Inconspicuously, quite surprisingly a couple of weeks ago we heard about a strange virus in China. A couple of events in Europe were canceled. Someone lost out. Others were surprised by the unnecessary panic. In turn, some disagreed with this turn of events, arguing that more deaths are generated by the traditional flu we know.
All the more so, the outbreak in northern Italy seemed to be one of the many pieces of information we let in with our left and out with our right ears. Perhaps despite this information and in the face of a light winter in Poland, skiing in the Dolomites was a matter of course for many ski enthusiasts.
It was also obvious that the virus was far away and the dangers associated with it did not concern us. However, literally a few days have passed, and the coronavirus has taken over the world paralyzing it in virtually every aspect.
Our production house, like any other organization in Poland, faced a complete remodeling of its work style. In order to maintain continuity of operations, we had to switch to a remote working system. Literally a few people also stayed bodily in the company to heroically look after the office, keep an eye on the renders and pick up the mail from a letter carrier frightened by the number of hands reaching out for a letter.
One of the procedures we followed before we switched to the so-called “home office” was to wash our hands thoroughly and in multiple steps. Seems like a simple matter, but is it really? We found this out when we were commissioned by a pharmaceutical company to produce an animation about proper hand washing and disinfection.
With very little time and only reference photos from the client’s brochure, we had to arrange something. So we scrubbed our hands repeatedly to work out the correct and artful reference of hand movement when washing.
These attempts were not in vain, because in fact our hands have never been so clean – sterilely clean. In the era of COVID-19, this is the abc of conduct – it is known. Despite appearances, the stages of hand washing and the length of time it takes are not so obvious. However, they are worth following to minimize the risk of contracting coronavirus. Below is a brief animation.
